CIF core dictionary

Dear Colleagues,

	As Brian pointed out recently we will shortly be proposing a
number of important changes to the CIF_core.dictionary in the light of
current experience.  In the meantime, however, we have had a request from
the CCDC for three new items needed in the CIFs which they supply.  We
have been asked to fast-track these changes.  You will find the proposal
at the end of this email.

	Can you please check these new items.  There do not seem to
be any issues raised by these definition and I would appreciate the early
approval of them by the members of the Core Dictionary Maintenance Group
(see below), so that we can recommend them to COMCIFS for final approval.

	If you have any reservation about approving them, please let me or
Brian McMahon know so that your concerns can be addressed before final
approval is given.

	The voting members of the Core DMG (from whom an answer is requested)
are:
	David Brown
	Syd Hall
	Owen Johnson
	Brian McMahon
	Ton Spek
I urge you to send in your vote as soon as possible.  Let me know if you
need more time.

While replies are expected from the above voting members, anyone on this
list is free to comment on the proposal and your concerns will be
considered.
