I have one practical argument for part (i) in Howard's list of goals for dictionary manager: H> (i) producing crystal-clear definitions of the terms which are given H> CIF data names For me, the category "recommendation" is difficult for further practical use, for example during the preparation of an publication on electronic way. One needs additional information if the authors follow the recommen- dation or not. This makes the editor's life not easier. In this respect, the "crystal-clear definition" is definitely favourable.
