Objet: A challenger to ISI? Date: Thu, 02 May 2002 15:46:29 +0200 De: Barry Mahon <mahons1@EIRCOM.NET> Répondre-A: ICSTI-L list <ICSTI-L@DTIC.MIL> A: ICSTI-L@DTIC.MIL Dear All, I found this item in the Information Today email alert: A start-up company that audaciously challenged the ISI establishment and its prestigious Journal Impact Factor for measuring scholarly journal impact has come and gone in short order, apparently as a result of its inability to defend itself against a multimillion-dollar lawsuit. --> http://www.infotoday.com/it/may02/hane1.htm I read the item and was surprised as I hadn't heard anything about it. Maybe I shouldn't be surprised as I don't see everything (if I did I would never surface!) and anyway since the outfit has gone bust maybe they didn't advertise themselves enough! Anybody any gossip to share on this one?? Bye, Barry -- VISITING GENEVA? See http://www.unige.ch/crystal/ahdf/geneva02.html Howard Flack http://www.unige.ch/crystal/ahdf/Howard.Flack.html
