Dear All I just wanted to take up one point concerning Yves' message: > 2 - Statistics > I am very skeptical about the statistics you may provide. A number of > requests come from the machines which scan the Web day and night. The > origin of the request is often hidden: any university with a proxy in > front may appear as a single IP adresse. This argument cannot really be > used. What we are expecting to do here is match up files downloaded with the IP addresses that subscribers have registered. We can then give each subscriber details of accesses from their registered IP addresses. Because we will report only on registered addresses, machines scanning the web will be excluded. (Nearly all subscribers have IP controlled access rather than password access.) Best wishes Peter
