I am Sorry, I didn't mean to single you out, Herbert. I don't even think it was your software. I wrote my parser, and I've been done with CIF since. I realize I will probably have to implement new parsing structures due to the new specification, but thats not so bad. If people really are interested in beating this particular dead horse, I'll rummage through even dustier inboxes, to see if I can find out specifically which parsers were problematic. Thanks alex
